There is something unfathomably satisfying to me whenever you post one of your photos Angie. I always think the Kittiwake. with its remarkably clean-looking grey and white plumage, is more pleasant and less fierce compared to other gulls. Its dark eyes and legs and pale yellow bill makes it more handsome and their action is quicker and more graceful due to its long wings. Wonderful to know you're out and about.
Thanks Ashley, Chris, John, Monty & Mike. Sorry I've not been catching up with you all. Thank you Mike:-) I agree with you, the Kittiwake is a very pretty gull with a very innocent look. Hope to see you soon. A
Hello Angie! The first time I saw the kittiwake was in the breeding colony of the beautiful slopes to Bempton Cliffs (Yorkshire). And when I heard their persistent singing, I also discovered why you call "wittiwake" to this seagull !!!!. I loved this place, both for its spectacular landscapes and the great diversity of birds can be observed. I remember the "bird star" of that day was the hoopoe, very rare to see in that area (very, very common where I live!), And all the birders were crazy to find it! Beautiful image, has brought me good memories! Greetings!
Great image!
