Wandering around the grounds of Powderham Castle (you don't have to pay to do this - well we didn't anyway!). It was lovely. Lots of Dragon Flies around the lake, Butterflies, a Heron who poked his head up as I was glancing over a hedge (that was a surprise!). I spotted something in the corner of my eye. I don't know how mind as this little guy was so well camouflaged! I managed to get a few shots, but they move so fast. I've not seen many Treecreepers, so I was thrilled to get a picture too and they are so pretty close up. Sexing these is a hard one... I'm going for male!

ReplyDeleteto capture.
Brilliant shot.
John.
Nice capture as these are tricky to get shots off. Great blog !
ReplyDeletei saw my first treecreeper while i was at slimbridge the other week, they are lovely little things arent they.
ReplyDeletethey are so quick so you have got some excellent shots there
Good shot, these are difficult to capture.
ReplyDeleteI especially noted your treecreeper - it looks just like the Brown Creeper on my side of the pond, but apparently they are considered different species since their scientific names are not the same (americana & familiaris). On an earlier post w/Bar-headed Goose - we had one show up in April. Few ways to figure it as anything but an escapee. Even so, a friend posited (facetiously, I think) that it was wintereing in England, joined Gr White-fronted and went to Greenland, then joined Canada's and came south - in April? Wherever, a beautiful bird.
ReplyDeleteHi Angie,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of tree creepers!! They are so hard to get shot of them they move quite quickly! But you got it right there! Well done.
Good capture Angie. Difficult to capture; they're like a little mouse creeping up the tree.
ReplyDeleteThank you all. The Treecreepers are lovely little birds. Nice markings and I was thrilled to get the shots.
ReplyDeleteRe: Bar Headed Goose Chris. It is a fabulous looking Goose. Interesting info. Thanks.
Great treecreepers. I love 'em! But they are so hard to shoot - always choosing dark places and moving very quickly - not a good combination! Well done...
ReplyDeleteThank you.
