I spent a lot of time watching the Spoonbill at Marazion yesterday, so I couldn’t resist putting more up. I wish I had a video camera. It’s so much more enjoyable in real life. It slept most of the time, but occasionally had a stretch and took the opportunity to preen in the sunshine. An adorable bird to watch and it’s much nicer when you have the time to enjoy them for a while. The injury by the eye seems to be healing well.

  2. Hi Angie,
You're totally right to go back there. i think I will do the same thing, and I would eventually forget my camera just to watch with my own eyes (Well Am I able to do that :-) )... You got nice shots again, and i would even wait for more of them.

  3. I love going through your photos & posts, though I've been so busy I am doing them in groups. They tempt me to expand my birding beyond NA, though I know that could be creating a monster. Couple of questions - do you have a more precise ID on the thrush from a few postings ago? Looks very much like some NA thrushes. And the Bar-headed in your sidebar - could you give me background. Captive, feral, feral gone wild, or Central Asian? We had one in our area in Spring - I'm writing about it this week - but almost certainly an escapee.

  4. Thank you Chris. Firstly, as you have probably gathered I am a learner! With the Thrush, it was taken back in the Spring and in a local woodland. As for the Bar Headed Goose I know little, but I know someone who may give me more information, but he's away on vacation at the moment. I can remember him telling me that the Goose is the same one that has visited the area every year for the last 3 or 4 years and it is believed to be an escapee from a collection.
