Lackey Moth Caterpillar Tent? Taken yesterday. I've taken shots of small caterpillar tents at Par, but this one was huge and covered the whole bush.

ADDITIONAL NOTE 23.11.09 - Jowan suggested that this was "furze mite Epitetranychs lintearius". Many thanks.

  2. It was amazing in size Sam. With a large lens you cannot do it justice. I needed the small camera! Thanks.

  3. Unlikely to be the Lackey as it overwinters as an egg. Could be the furze mite Epitetranychs lintearius

  4. Thanks. I have looked it up and judging by the pictures I have seen, I would be inclined to agree. Thank you for letting me know.
